Snowfall Finally Returns to Kashmir Region After Month-Long Dry Spell

 

Finally, after a month-long dry spell in the Kashmir region, snowfall started in the southern region of Kashmir.

 

Sources told News Agency Kashmir Scroll, the snowfall started at Peer Ki Gali in Shopian District along the Mughal Road.

 

The snowfall was still ongoing in the area when filed this report.

 

Meanwhile, the weatherman has predicted that there will be isolated to scattered light rain and snow over Jammu and Kashmir in the next few days.

The Meteorological Office has issued an advisory from January 28-31, warning of the possibility of temporary road closures in higher reaches and important passes like Sinthan pass, Mughal Road, Sadhna and Razdan pass, Zojila, etc.

 

Travelers are advised to plan accordingly, according to a statement from a meteorological department official to News Agency Kashmir Scroll.

 

On February 1, there is a possibility of light rain or snow at scattered places. (KS)

 

Earlier, the weatherman said From today weather is likely to be partly to generally cloudy with possibility of intermittent rain, snowfall at scattered places and also in plains of Kashmir Valley after brief dry spell.

 

The weather office predicted erratic weather in J&K till 2nd of February with possibility of rain and snow in Kashmir .
