In a welcome development for students in Kashmir, the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) has recently dispatched notifications regarding the release of scholarships for the year 2023. Several students were delighted to find a message from NSP containing their unique applicant ID.
The message reads: “National Scholarship Portal Applicant (JK201920010076373), please contact your bank to seed Aadhaar with your bank account to receive Aadhaar-based payment. -National Scholarship Portal, NIC”
Following the prompt, numerous students promptly visited their respective banks to fulfill the necessary requirements for Aadhaar seeding. This step proved crucial in unlocking the funds allocated for the NSP scholarship program.

For those who might be unfamiliar with the term, Aadhaar seeding involves linking one’s Aadhaar number with their primary bank account. This ensures a streamlined process for receiving Aadhaar-based payments, such as scholarships.
The students of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, NSP Scholarship Payment received after much long wait and they can check their status by visiting Jammu and Kashmir bank and are receiving payment credited messages from bank.
If you have received the message but are unsure about the Aadhaar seeding process, here are steps to check if your seeding is enabled:
1. Through UIDAI (Aadhaar) Website:
- Visit UIDAI Bank Mapper website
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number or 16-digit Virtual ID.
- Enter the security code.
- Click “Send OTP,” and you’ll receive the OTP on your linked mobile number.
- Submit the OTP to check Aadhaar bank linking status, which includes masked Aadhaar number, linking status (active/inactive), linking date, and bank name.
2. Through Phone Call:
- Dial *99*99*1# from your Aadhaar-registered phone number.
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
- Re-enter the number for verification.
- After submission, the status of linking will be displayed.
3. Through mAadhaar App:
- Log in to the mAadhaar app.
- Click on ‘My Aadhaar’ and select ‘Aadhaar-Bank Account Link Status.’
- Enter Aadhaar number, security code, and click ‘Request OTP.’
- Enter OTP sent to registered mobile number and click ‘Verify’ to check status.
This initiative aims to facilitate seamless financial assistance to deserving students through the NSP scholarship program.
Students are encouraged to promptly complete the Aadhaar seeding process to ensure a smooth disbursement of funds.
