Petrol, diesel prices on December 5: Check latest fuel prices in your city

There has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel for over six months now. State-run oil marketing companies like Indian Oil and BPCL, which announce fuel price revision (if any) at 6 am daily, kept the fuel prices steady again on Monday, December 5.

Petrol and diesel prices across major metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru have remained unchanged since May 22, when the Centre had cut the tax on fuel to give some relief to the consumers. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had on May 21 announced an excise duty cut on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre on diesel.

Latest fuel prices on December 5

As per the latest update on Monday, petrol in Delhi continues to cost Rs 96.72 per litre while diesel is being sold at Rs 89.62 per litre. A litre of petrol in Mumbai costs over Rs 100 at Rs 106.31 while diesel is being sold at Rs 94.27 per litre. In Bengaluru, the current price of petrol is Rs 101.94 per litre while diesel costs Rs 87.89.

Petrol and diesel in Chennai are being sold at Rs 102.63 per litre and Rs 94.24 per litre, respectively. In Kolkata, the price of petrol is Rs 106.03 per litre currently and diesel price is Rs 92.76 per litre. In Uttar Pradesh’s capital city Lucknow, petrol costs Rs 96.62 per litre and diesel Rs 89.81 per litre.

You can check fuel rates in your city by sending an SMS. Customers of Indian Oil can text RSP to the number 9224992249, while those of Hindustan Petroleum must text HPPRICE to the number 9222201122. Customers of Bharat Petroleum must send an SMS to the number 9223112222 by typing RSP.
