J&K Bank Announces Recruitment Drive for Apprentices
Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd. has recently unveiled its plans to initiate a recruitment process for the engagement of apprentices under the Apprentices Act-1961, amended as per the prevailing norms. The bank aims to fill a total of 390 vacancies across various districts and regions. The application process is set to commence on August 29, 2023, and will conclude on September 12, 2023.

The bank, headquartered in Srinagar, has provided a district-wise breakdown of vacancies. The positions are distributed across different categories, including SC, ST, SEBC/OBC, EWS, and UR. Furthermore, there are provisions for persons with benchmark disabilities as well.

Eligibility Criteria


Candidates applying for these apprenticeship positions are required to meet certain criteria:

Qualification: Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree from universities recognized by the Central or State Legislature in India. The degree should be from an institution incorporated under the UGC Act, 1956. Additionally, candidates are expected to be proficient in the local language of the respective region.
Age Limit: The minimum age for applicants is 20 years, and the maximum age is set at 28 years. Relaxations in the upper age limit are applicable as per government guidelines for categories like SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD.
Training Duration: The apprenticeship program is set for a duration of one year.
Stipend: Selected apprentices will receive a stipend of Rs. 7500/- per month along with an additional allowance of Rs. 1500/-, making it a total of Rs. 9000/- per month during the one-year engagement period. However, no other allowances or benefits will be provided.

Training Hours: Apprentices will undergo on-the-job training during the bank’s regular working hours, similar to the schedule followed by clerical staff.
Terms & Conditions: It is important to note that candidates who have previously undergone apprenticeship training or have job experience after completing their education are not eligible for this program. The apprentices will not have a claim to employment with the bank upon the completion of training. The bank also reserves the right to engage candidates in branches/offices based on its discretion.

Interested candidates are advised to apply for positions in only one district/area. The number of vacancies is subject to change based on the bank’s requirements.

1)Registration on apprenticeship portal: A candidate should initially register/create his/her profile
in the web portal https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in , as a candidate. Only those candidates who
have already registered themselves on the apprenticeship portal and applied against the
opportunity created by Jammu And Kashmir Bank Ltd shall be allowed to register for online
examination.
