Fresh Weather Update: More Snowfall in Kashmir from 27th Feb

The Meteorological Department in Srinagar has issued a forecast predicting additional snowfall in Kashmir starting from February 27th to 3rd march.

However, The weatherman has forecast mainly dry weather till February 26.

Amid largely clear skies, freezing night temperature continued unabated and stayed several degrees Celsius below normal in Kashmir Valley with Gulmarg recording a low of minus 10.0Β°C and Pahalgam minus 9.5Β°C on Friday, officials said.

 

A meteorological department official here told GNS that Srinagar recorded a low of minus 2.6Β°C and it was below normal by 1.0Β°C for the summer capital of J&K for this time of the year, he said.

 

Qazigund recorded a minimum of minus 3.8Β°C against minus 4.4Β°C on the previous night and it was 3.7Β°C below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, the MeT official said.

 

Pahalgam recorded a low of minus 9.5Β°C against minus 8.6Β°C on the previous night and it was 5.5Β°C below normal for the famous resort in south Kashmir.

 

Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum of minus 3.5Β°C against minus 5.4Β°C on the previous night and the temperature was below normal by 2.8Β°C for the place, the official said.
