Fresh Avalanche Hits Gulmarg, Quick Response from Local Skiers Saves Lives

 

Gulmarg, Feb 05 (KS): A avalanche hit the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir’s ski resort Gulmarg on Monday evening, the snowy heights of the Afarwat, famous for its ski slopes and visited by hundreds of tourists every winter.

 

The health resort Gulmarg experienced another avalanche. However, thanks to the bravery and cooperation of local skiers, many individuals caught in the disaster were rescued.

 

An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that two avalanches occurred at Affarwat in Gulmarg, causing panic. Fortunately, a group of local skiers immediately sprang into action, drawing on their extensive knowledge of the terrain and expertise in rescue operations. Without hesitating, they risked their own lives to save others.

 

The official stated that their swift response played a crucial role in locating and freeing many skiers who were trapped under the snow, greatly reducing the potential for tragedy. Thanks to their heroic efforts, numerous lives were miraculously saved.

Meanwhile, a police officer confirmed to news agency Kashmir Scroll that all tourists are accounted for and safe.
