The Office of the Child Development Project Officer in Bandipora has announced the commencement of recruitment for Sanginis (Anganwadi Workers) and Sahayikas (Anganwadi Helpers) under Phase 2 of the POSHAN Project. Aligned with Government Order No 222-JK/SWD of 2022 and approved through letter No: 103-JK(SWD) of 2023, this recruitment aims to fill vacancies at Anganwadi Centres. Eligible candidates are invited to submit applications in the prescribed format.

Check Eligibility Criteria For Anganwadi Workers:

Age Criteria

Women candidates aged 18-37, domiciled in UT of J&K.

Minimum qualification:

10+2, with graduation as the maximum.
Residence in the Anganwadi Centre’s electoral ward is mandatory.

Preference given to candidates with higher marks in 10+2.
For Anganwadi Helpers:


Women candidates aged 18-37, domiciled in UT of J&K.

Minimum qualification: Matriculation; 8th standard considered if no matriculate candidates available.
Selection based on destitute/needy criteria, with preference for retiring AWW/AWHs’ family members.

Document Verification:
Shortlisted candidates undergo document verification, submitting original and self-attested copies of academic qualifications, domicile, date of birth, and other necessary certificates. Unmarried certificates are required where applicable.

Check Selection Process:
Anganwadi Workers’ selection is merit-based, with emphasis on 10+2 marks.

In case of a tie, higher age receives preference. Candidates with qualifications higher than graduation are not considered.


For Anganwadi Helpers, selection prioritizes the most destitute/needy married women within the electoral ward.
